History
Grasshopper Golf Tours is one of the oldest golf travel specialists in the industry, founded in 1981. Our primary focus is on the links golf courses of Great Britain and Ireland although we have sent clients over the years to France, Spain, Portugal, Australia, and New Zealand, just to name a few other locations. We are experts at putting together unique trips to suit our clients’ needs, focusing on great golf courses, lodging, ground transportation, sightseeing options, and restaurants.
Every single itinerary is unique-we just do not offer any “template” trips. Over the years 15,000+ people have traveled with Grasshopper Golf Tours. Our founder, John Bitner, was a Chicago area businessman who saw an opportunity to combine his two passions-travel and golf- into a job. It obviously worked quite well! The next generation to lead Grasshopper Golf Tours and carry on the great tradition of excellent service and attention to detail are Matt Harrison, Becca Kemplin and Jamie Shier of Lexington, Kentucky. John and his wife, Daniela, continue to consult with Matt and Jamie to provide wisdom and direction for the company.
