How We Operate
Grasshopper Golf Tours provides customized tours for their clients to the greatest golf courses in the world, with a special emphasis on links golf in the British Isles. We do not have any “sample itineraries” or “template trips,” as we believe in working personally with our clients to provide a trip that fits their needs and desires. Here is how our process works:
Step 1
A phone call, or series of calls, with the lead golfer, or golfers, to get to know them. We seek to learn as much as possible about their desires for the trip, their past links golf and travel experience, etc. During this process, depending on the client’s knowledge, we will also educate the client on the nuances of traveling overseas, the best golf courses, the best locations and hotels to base their stay, and other pertinent information.
Step 2
The next step involves taking the above information and starting to define the trip more clearly. We prefer email communication at this point as it helps us document and track new ideas and suggested changes, but we are always available for a phone call as well. During this stage we will define where our clients want to travel, what courses they want to play, how long is the trip, and other defining characteristics.
Step 3
Finally, we do all the work to determine availability at hotels and golf courses for the client’s preferred dates. Now the trip is really taking shape! This is where our 35 years of experience and expertise makes a big difference as we put the final pieces into place. We send a draft itinerary to our clients for their final approval, and once approved, we send pricing and deposit information. At this point, we finalize all bookings for golf, hotels, and ground transportation.
Step 4
Once your deposit is paid, very little is required of you, and we do everything to make your trip as “turnkey” as possible. We are always ready to make any changes you would like, and do not charge change fees, unless your changes make a big difference in the overall cost of the trip.
Step 5
You will receive a final packet with your itinerary, where you will be staying, contact information for friends and family, and some helpful hints for travel and links golf about 2 weeks before your trip. The lead golfer will also receive a more thorough packet showing confirmations of all tee times and hotel payments.
